Our February 2020 Outdoor Skills Course Dates
Navigation and Foraging Courses in North Wales
As we roll on into the second month of 2020 we’re starting to gather pace and get ready for a busy spring, summer and autumn of outdoor courses and adventures. We don’t have many courses running in these, our quieter winter months, but we do have a couple of skills courses running throughout February.
It’s easy to assume that the warmer, sunnier months are best for coastal foraging – but actually the colder waters of a Welsh winter will hold more oxygen and often be cleaner. This is one of the better times to come hunting for edible molluscs and bivalves, and the locations we choose for our winter coastal foraging courses are spectacular no matter what time of year we visit.
The Coastal Foraging Walks take place near Porthmadog at Borth Y Gest.
22nd February 2020 – 1pm to 3pm
21st March 2020 – 12pm to 2pm
The Level 1 Basic Navigation course is a 2-day introductory navigation course that covers the basics of navigating with a map and compass on land in the UK. It’s aimed at people heading out on foot mainly (walkers, runners etc) but would also be suitable for bushcrafters, mountainbikers and even paddlers.
The course takes place in the hills near Llangollen in the Clwydian range AONB.
29th February-1st March 2020 – 2 places left!
