GEAR NEWS: Sierra Designs and Kelty are hopping over the pond

Sierra Designs and Kelty are making the move into the UK with support from MCS PR and hope to bring something new to the outdoor gear smorgasbord currently available

Exxel Outdoors are an American company who are known for their innovative tents, backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories and the two brands of Sierra Designs and Kelty compliment each other perfectly. Bred from slightly different stock but with the same ultimate goals of connecting people to the outdoors.

‘Born in California and bred on the trail, Sierra Designs has been committed to
supporting people’s love of the outdoors since 1965. Today, that means creating equipment and apparel
that is functional, beautiful, and most importantly, attainable. Our team believes that exploration should be
within everyone’s reach, because life is found in the adventure, not the destination’

Currently both brands are found rather exclusively in a handful of stockists in the UK, however they are creating websites for the EU/UK and in the meantime you can browse the shiny gear which they have available on their .com websites. Exxel Outdoors may be a leading international group of outdoor brands. However, being based in Boulder, Colorado, the company maintains a broad and growing range of authentic outdoor brands in equipment and apparel for the camping enthusiast to the alpine expedition mountaineer. They are actually the largest sleeping bag company manufactured in the United States- a great claim to fame!

‘Playing hard since 1952: Kelty Pack was born out of a genuine love for the outdoors. For Dick
Kelty getting outside was a physical need – and as a result, every single thing he made was handcrafted to
make the backcountry feel as accessible and comfortable as his own backyard. As the originator of the
modern external frame pack, Kelty has always been dedicated to connecting all kinds of folks with the
wonders of the wilderness and encouraging play in its most natural form’
