Course Description

Mountain Survival Day

Bushcraft shelter course as part of the Adventure Programme

£25.00 per person

For the January 2018 session of the Original Outdoors Adventure Programme we will be running through vital survival skills for the mountains of the U.K. – including equipment choice, movement over difficult ground, calling for help and dealing with mountain emergencies.

We will spend the day in the mountains near Capel Curig, the final venue to be decided by the weather conditions on the day.

The course is delivered by Richard Prideaux – an experienced mountain leader and with experience both as a North Wales mountain rescue team member and trainer of UK search and rescue teams and emergency services.

The course start at 9:00am and finishes at around 3-4:00pm.

Can I bring children?

Children over the age of 14 are welcome if attending with a parent or legal guardian

Can I bring a dog?

For this course I am afraid not – the  terrain would not be suitable for a dog within a group

How fit do I need to be?

It will be a full mountain day with some easy (Grade 1 or lower) scrambling, but the emphasis is on skills and the course content – not seeing how fast we can ascend. There will be several opportunities to rest throughout the day. If you have any questions please contact us.
