Recommended Equipment Lists for our Courses and Events
Knowing what equipment to take onto the hills or into the woods is a very personal choice. You might prefer one brand of boot over another, or to take an extra fleece or midlayer if you feel the cold more than other people…
That kind of knowledge is built over time, with experience of different situations and conditions. However, if you book onto one of our navigation courses or guided walks then you will be sent a required equipment list, along with a list of items that you may also want to bring.
Most of it is quite obvious, such as good walking boots, or a waterproof jacket and trousers. Chances are that you already own a great deal of items on the list. We won’t recommend one particular brand over another, but if you are unsure what if an item you already own is suitable for your trip then please don’t hesitate to contact our offices and we’ll be happy to advise you.
These equipment lists are specific to our courses and trips, but we have listed them here for your information:
Please note that these lists are not exhaustive, and that if you are heading out into the hills separate to one of our courses, then you will require more items, such as a map and compass, emergency shelter etc etc. The above lists are designed to give clients of Original Outdoors and idea of what items to bring with them on one of our courses. Please contact our offices for more details.
