Two-Day introduction to green woodworking held in North Wales

£185.00 per person – Includes knife making materials

The Green Woodworker is a new skill-specific course from North Wales outdoor specialist Original Outdoors. Working with experienced instructors you will try out and learn a wide variety of techniques and projects.

The course takes place in a private 90-acre site near Ruthin, North Wales and is delivered over two days to ensure that all aspects of axe use and care are fully explored. Free camping is available on site in an expedition-style camp.

This course director is experienced green woodworker Doug Don of Heartwood Treen.

The course includes:

  • Axe selection and choosing the tool for the task
  • Felling trees, limbing/snedding and cross-cutting timber
  • Splitting and riving wood
  • Sharepning and axe maintenance
  • Axe handle repairs and replacement handles
  • Use of side axe and related tools
  • Small axe projects
  • Chopping blocks
